Chinese Malatang chains expand presence in Japan

Several Chinese Malatang specialty chains are expanding their presence in Japan with new store openings scheduled for late 2026.

In Ichikawa, Chiba, Qin Ai De Malatang is set to open its Motoyawata branch on November 27, 2026. This will mark the brand's 17th location in Japan and its third in the Ichikawa area, following previous openings in Minami-Gyotoku and Ichikawa Station. The new location is situated at 3-1-7 Yawata, Ichikawa City.

In Shiki, Saitama, Li Xiao Qi Malatang is scheduled to open in mid-October 2026 at the FOOD HALL SHIKISM commercial facility. The chain, which operates over 3,000 locations in China, offers a self-service style where customers select ingredients by weight to customize their spicy soup bowls.
