Chinese People's Liberation Army marks 99th anniversary in Ankara

A reception was held in Ankara to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. The event, hosted by Chinese Ambassador Jiang Xuebin at a hotel, was attended by Turkish Defence Ministry General Director Lieutenant General İlkay Altındağ, Chinese Defence Attaché Yang Jianjun, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı, AK Party MP Abdulkadir Emin Önen, Vatan Party leader Doğu Perinçek, and representatives of several foreign diplomatic and military missions.

Speakers emphasized the deepening strategic partnership between China and Turkey, noting the 55th year of diplomatic relations and the importance of expanding military‑defence cooperation. Both sides described their armed forces as committed to global peace, stability and the challenges of an evolving security environment.
