Chinese prostitution ring busted in Jeju, South Korea

South Korean police arrested members of a Chinese‑run organization that was facilitating prostitution for Chinese tourists in Jeju City. The group operated a Chinese‑language website that listed profiles of Korean and Chinese women, advertised service tiers (S–E) with prices ranging from 110,000 to 500,000 won, and used the WeChat messenger to arrange clients.

An undercover operation confirmed the sex‑trade taking place in an officetel in Yeondong, Jeju. Police detained a 30‑year‑old Chinese woman (identified as A) on charges of prostitution‑brokerage and money‑laundering, and placed a 30‑year‑old Chinese man (B) under investigation without detention. Authorities also seized cash and other evidence, and have issued arrest warrants for two additional suspects who fled abroad – one to China and another to Cambodia. Interpol red‑notice procedures are being considered, and officials are pursuing the shutdown of the illicit website.
