Chinese solar firms Tongwei and LONGi unveil record‑breaking modules

Tongwei introduced a 770‑watt utility‑scale solar module at Intersolar Europe 2026. Certified by TÜV Rheinland, the TNC 3.0 BIFIMAX module reaches a conversion efficiency of up to 24.8 % and a bifaciality rate of 93.07 %, enabling significant rear‑side power generation and projected additional revenue for large installations.

Longi announced a new world‑record efficiency of 35.5 % for its crystalline silicon‑perovskite tandem solar cell, certified by the European Solar Test Installation. The achievement follows a series of prior upgrades, with laboratory cells reaching 35.2 % and small‑area modules achieving over 31 % efficiency, underscoring the technology’s industrial‑scale potential.

Both developments highlight China’s leading role in advancing high‑efficiency photovoltaic technologies that could accelerate the global clean‑energy transition.
