Chinese SUVs Gain Popularity in Poland with New Volkswagen Tayron and Chery Tiggo 9
Polish car buyers are increasingly turning to Chinese‑derived SUVs. Volkswagen’s Tayron, first sold only in China, entered the global market in late 2024 and is now offered in Poland with a seven‑speed DSG, front‑ or all‑wheel drive, and engines ranging from 150 hp to 272 hp. Prices start at about 166,300 zł for the base model, with used examples beginning near 145,000 zł.
Chery’s Tiggo 9 plug‑in hybrid, positioned as a larger, seven‑seat family SUV, measures 4.81 m long and features a spacious interior, premium infotainment and a plug‑in hybrid powertrain that reviewers say makes the car smoother and quieter than its ICE predecessor. The model emphasises comfort over flashy technology and is marketed as a flagship offering for the brand in Poland.
