Chinese SUVs Omoda 5 HEV Luxury and Leapmotor B10 debut in Brazil

Chinese automakers are intensifying Brazil's SUV price war. Omoda introduced the Omoda 5 HEV Luxury hybrid SUV at a promotional price of R$ 159,990, undercutting the Volkswagen T‑Cross 200 TSI and offering a 224 hp combined output, hybrid DHT transmission and a fully equipped package.

Leapmotor launched the B10 electric SUV with a suggested price of R$ 182,990, complemented by discounts of up to R$ 20,000 for trade‑ins or corporate buyers. Produced locally in Stellantis’ Goiana plant, the B10 delivers 218 hp, a 56.2 kWh LFP battery with a 288‑km NEDC‑type range, fast‑charging capability and a spacious interior designed for families.

Both models aim to capture price‑sensitive Brazilian consumers seeking hybrid or electric alternatives, challenging established players and reshaping competition in the mid‑size SUV segment.
