Chiva bridge flooding triggers technical investigation

The Generalitat has requested a technical report to investigate the causes of flooding at a bridge in the Serra Perenxisa urbanization in Chiva. The bridge was reconstructed following the DANA weather event with increased hydraulic capacity for the Gallego ravine, yet the upper section flooded during recent rains.

Sandra Castillo, general director of recovery, noted that while the administration improved the bridge's capacity, maintenance of municipal infrastructure, including the cleaning of gullies, remains the responsibility of the local town council. Local officials have raised concerns regarding whether the gullies are sized appropriately to prevent blockages from debris.
