San Andrés Cholula advances tourism push with Pueblo Mágico committee
The municipal government of San Andrés Cholula, led by mayor Lupita Cuautle, held the seventh session of the Comité Ciudadano Cholula Pueblo Mágico and a second tourism dialogue. The committee, which brings together citizens, productive sectors and the administrations of San Andrés and San Pedro Cholula, was presented as a permanent space for collaboration to protect cultural heritage, promote regional identity and drive economic development through tourism, culture and urban projects.
Participants agreed to showcase the region at two major events: the Tianguis Nacional de Pueblos Mágicos 2026 in Tampico (12‑15 November) and the Tianguis Turístico de México 2027 in the state of Puebla (9‑12 March). The officials highlighted Cholula’s unique status as the only Pueblo Mágico that spans two municipalities around the Great Pyramid, requiring a coordinated regional vision to preserve its historical, cultural and spiritual wealth for local families.
