Choose France summit in Versailles secures €93bn AI investments, invites Taiwan's HCM

The ninth annual “Choose France” summit opened at the Palace of Versailles under President Emmanuel Macron, announcing a record €93 billion in foreign investment across 71 projects and creating more than 15 000 jobs. The bulk of the funding targets artificial‑intelligence infrastructure and sovereign cloud, with SoftBank pledging up to €75 billion for five gigawatts of AI‑computing capacity and other investors such as Brookfield, MGX and Ardian backing data‑center builds in the Hauts‑de‑France region.

Among the invited participants was HCM, a Taiwanese manufacturer of lithium‑manganese‑iron‑phosphate cathode materials. HCM’s attendance marks its first invitation to the summit and signals a push to deepen Taiwan‑France cooperation in green energy, defence and aerospace, leveraging its LMFP technology and AI‑driven smart factories.

The summit aims to position France as a hub for AI‑driven industries while fostering strategic partnerships with companies like HCM that can supply advanced battery materials for high‑performance, safety‑critical applications.
