Choromoro archaeological discovery reveals pre-Hispanic remains

Archaeological remains have been discovered along Provincial Route 312 in the Bordo de Aragón area of Choromoro. Recent rainfall caused soil erosion that exposed an ancient ceramic vessel, prompting an immediate response from specialists from the Institute of Archaeology and Museum of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and provincial heritage personnel.

During controlled excavations, researchers recovered several vessels of varying sizes, clay fragments, and bone remains that preliminary indications suggest may be human in origin. The findings suggest the site was used for domestic or ritual activities by pre-Hispanic populations.

Experts believe the area is linked to the historical presence of the Chuschagasta culture. The recovered materials will be transferred to the National University of Tucumán for scientific analysis to determine their age, function, and cultural context.
