CHP blocks delivery of 31,500 Bodrum signatures demanding Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu step down

The Bodrum Citizen Initiative collected roughly 31,500 wet signatures in a campaign titled “We don’t want Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in Bodrum,” protesting the party’s “mutlak butlan” appointment of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as CHP leader. Representatives Hülya Scobie and Ayhan Karahan traveled from Muğla to Ankara to hand the signatures to the CHP headquarters.

When they arrived, party officials denied them entry. The activists displayed the assembled signature chain outside the building but were unable to deliver the documents to Kılıçdaroğlu. The protest highlights internal dissent within the Republican People’s Party over the leadership appointment.
