CHP expels 48 members including prominent political figures

The High Disciplinary Board of the Republican People's Party (CHP) has expelled 48 members following a disciplinary process. The decision follows allegations that these individuals were engaging in activities for another political party.

The list of expelled members includes several prominent political figures, former members of parliament, and party administrators. Notable names include former General Secretary Selin Sayek Böke, former Women's Branch President Aylin Nazlıaka, former MP İlhan Cihaner, and economists Kerim Rota and Serkan Özcan.

The disciplinary action comes amid internal tensions regarding the legitimacy of the party's leadership and recent leadership transitions. While 48 members were expelled, the board decided not to impose penalties on two individuals, Metin Güzelkaya and Ozan Varal.
