CHP initiates disciplinary proceedings against 49 Party Assembly members

The Republican People's Party (CHP) has initiated widespread disciplinary proceedings targeting 49 members of the Party Assembly (PM). Critics and party officials, including former CHP Women's Branch Chair Aylin Nazlıaka, suggest the move aims to prevent members elected during the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu era from returning to their posts should current leadership decisions be overturned.

If the expulsions proceed, the Party Assembly membership could drop from 54 to just 5 individuals, effectively consolidating the leadership of Özgür Özel by removing the majority of the previous administration's appointees. The disciplinary actions are being justified by the party leadership on the grounds that these members are working for the 'YENİ Parti'.

In Osmaniye, CHP Provincial Chair Rıza Tekerek announced that local disciplinary processes will be conducted in coordination with the General Headquarters. Tekerek stated that the party is identifying two groups for removal: those attempting to undermine the party process and those pursuing personal interests. He emphasized that practices such as favoritism and groupism will be ended before upcoming congresses.
