CHP Istanbul branch adds 200 new members at ceremony

Around 200 individuals were inducted as members of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) at a ceremony organized by the party’s Istanbul provincial leadership. The event was led by Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed by the Istanbul 45th Civil Court to head the provincial organization.

Tekin told the new members that the party would focus on solving problems rather than creating them, urging them to “stand side by side” and promising to hold a congress in 45 days. He also referenced past challenges, noting the party’s hardship after the 1999 elections and calling for unity against alleged false accusations. Following his remarks, the participants received CHP badges.

The ceremony was reported as a demonstration of the party’s effort to expand its base in Turkey’s largest city.
