Turkish opposition raises alarms over fund crisis and rising debt

Opposition members of the Republican People's Party (CHP) have raised significant economic concerns in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. CHP Deputy Dr. Müzeyyen Şevkin alleged a massive fund crisis involving losses of approximately 20 billion dollars, claiming that 455,000 investors and their families—totaling roughly 4.5 million people—have been affected.

Additionally, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Serkan Sarı reported that non-performing debts in Turkey have approached 1 trillion lira. He provided a breakdown including 199 billion lira in credit card debt and 535 billion lira in commercial loans. Sarı also addressed social issues, including rising costs for university students and the impact of recent flooding in Istanbul.

On the administrative front, Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu announced that the Ministry is developing a new Regulation on Rights and Communication in Health. This initiative aims to consolidate regulations regarding patient and healthcare worker rights under a single framework. He also highlighted the expansion of Turkey's health infrastructure through the development of city hospitals.
