CHP leader Özgür Özel pledges to regain party control in Turkey

CHP Group Leader Özgür Özel toured the Beydağ district of İzmir, meeting local officials and residents. He said the party is engaged in a "legal, political and physical struggle" and promised, "We will either take back our party or open a new road to power." During the visit he took part in preparing and serving the traditional keşkek dish, received banners praising his leadership, and criticised the current government's agricultural policies, noting the lack of guarantees for farmers.

In a subsequent speech to CHP parliamentarians, Özel reiterated the commitment to win back the party, citing past campaign successes across the country and accusing the AK Party of targeting CHP with a "disenfranchisement" operation. He warned that any attempt to halt the party’s momentum would result in a "absolute sultan" scenario and reaffirmed the resolve to change the ruling power.

Both statements underscore Özel’s determination to revitalize CHP ahead of upcoming elections and to challenge the incumbent government’s policies.
