CHP Malatya provincial chair refutes alleged 18 million‑lira newspaper invoice

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu claimed that a provincial CHP leader in Malatya had been dismissed and that a "nylon" invoice had been issued for 40‑50 newspapers, amounting to tens of millions of lira. Barış Yıldız, the Malatya provincial chair, denied the allegation, saying the invoice was mistakenly entered as 18 million TL instead of 18 thousand TL, was subsequently cancelled and a correct invoice of 18 thousand TL was paid.

After Yıldız’s response, the newly appointed provincial chair Hakan Satılmış confirmed the erroneous invoice appears in the system and announced that the party will file a criminal complaint with the prosecutor’s office. Battalgazi Gazette editor Erdal Öztürk also said the mistake stemmed from a unit‑price error, where 40 TL was typed as 40 000 TL, inflating the total. He supplied bank documents showing the 18 thousand TL payment and stated the correct amount has been settled.
