Chris Hemsworth's Extraction 3 filming injects $10‑$127 million into Port Kembla, NSW

Hollywood actors Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba are shooting the third instalment of the Netflix "Extraction" franchise at Port Kembla on the New South Wales coast. Local officials including Wollongong Mayor Tania Brown, MP Paul Scully and MP Alison Byrnes met the cast on set and praised the production’s cooperation with regional authorities.

The project is expected to create about 450 jobs and inject between $10 million and $127 million into the state’s screen industry and the broader Illawarra economy, supporting accommodation providers, hospitality venues, transport operators, marine services and local trades. The NSW Port Authority, Screen NSW, Screen Australia and other agencies have coordinated logistics and access to harbour facilities for the shoot.
