Chrissy Amphlett legacy explored in new ABC documentary

The ABC program ‘Australian Story’ is releasing a two-part profile titled ‘Wild’ regarding the life and legacy of Divinyls frontwoman Chrissy Amphlett. The documentary examines her confrontational stage presence, which challenged expectations for women in rock, and explores the discipline, volatility, and vulnerability behind her career.

The profile includes rare footage and three unreleased songs recorded with Tim Finn. It also addresses the personal struggles Amphlett faced, including addiction and the pressures of success during the band’s 16-year run. Family members, including her cousin Patricia ‘Little Pattie’ Amphlett, and former collaborators provide insight into her impact as a feminist icon and performer.
