Christian Eriksen collapses during Denmark-Ukraine friendly, match halted
Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen suffered a sudden loss of consciousness after feeling chest pain in the 68th minute of a friendly match against Ukraine. Medical staff rushed onto the field, treated him on the pitch and confirmed that he was initially conscious and stable. The game, which had Denmark leading 2‑1, was stopped and eventually abandoned while the player was examined.
Denmark head coach Brian Remmer said the incident shocked the squad and staff, noting that Eriksen had seemed fine moments before the collapse. Remmer expressed his personal concern and plans to visit Eriksen soon, emphasizing the priority of the player's health. The event revived memories of Eriksen's 2021 cardiac episode that required a pacemaker implant.
