Christian Eriksen collapses in Denmark‑Ukraine friendly, stable after pacemaker shock
Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen suffered a collapse in the 66th minute of a friendly match against Ukraine in Odense. The player’s implanted pacemaker delivered a corrective shock, and medical staff quickly attended to him. The game was abandoned after the incident and Eriksen was taken off the field, later confirmed to be conscious and in good condition.
Eriksen, 34, recounted on social media that he is recovering at home with his family and thanked the medical team for the device’s successful intervention. He noted the episode differed from his 2021 Euro 2020 cardiac arrest. The midfielder, who currently plays for Wolfsburg after stints at Brentford, Manchester United and Inter Milan, emphasized his focus on recuperation and spending time with his family.
