Christian Horner returns to F1 paddock at Silverstone, eyes future team role

Christian Horner made his first appearance in a Formula 1 paddock since being dismissed by Red Bull a year earlier, arriving at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone. He was welcomed by FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem and Formula One chief Stefano Domenicali, and was accompanied by former Red Bull press officer Alice Hedworth.

Horner said he would only consider a return to a team that could win, stressing that “there’s no point in coming back just for the sake of a job”. He highlighted his desire to be “empowered to make a change, to drive difference, to win”. His tenure at Red Bull saw eight drivers’ world championships and six constructors’ titles, and he was cleared of misconduct allegations made by a former employee.

Speculation links Horner to several possible destinations, including Alpine, Aston Martin, Ferrari and the Chinese EV maker BYD, which is exploring a potential 12th F1 team. Horner’s garden‑leave restrictions have ended, making him a free agent, and he has said he will wait for “the right thing” before re‑joining the sport.
