CNN anchors Christiane Amanpour and Bianna Golodryga announce departures
CNN is facing a significant talent shakeup following the consecutive announcements of high-profile departures from its international news division. Veteran correspondent and chief international anchor Christiane Amanpour announced she will step down from her daily program at the end of the year, transitioning to a weekly show before officially leaving the network in June 2027 after a 43-year career.
Following Amanpour's announcement, Bianna Golodryga, a senior global affairs analyst and co-anchor of CNN International’s ‘One World’, also declared she is leaving the network after nine years. Golodryga stated she is moving on to an opportunity she could not pass up, though she has not yet disclosed her next destination. Her final broadcast is scheduled for Friday.
These exits occur amid a period of major corporate transition for the network. CNN’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, was recently acquired by Skydance, a media giant led by David Ellison. The merger brings CNN and CBS News under the same corporate umbrella, leading to internal uncertainty regarding future editorial direction and organizational consolidation.
