Christopher Street Day events held in Aurich and Dortmund

Multiple Christopher Street Day (CSD) events took place in Germany in late August and early September 2026.

In Aurich, the 11th edition of the CSD was organized by the association Ulrichs e. V. The event featured a demonstration parade that passed the St. Ludgerus parish, which participated through ecumenical support. The church opened its doors to attendees, offering a space for reflection and a service where participants could send postcards with blessings to loved ones.

In Dortmund, the 28th CSD was scheduled for September 5, 2026. The event included a parade from the main station to Friedensplatz, followed by a festival. Due to security concerns following a recent attack in Berlin, the Dortmund Police planned an increased presence, supported by the North Rhine-Westphalia riot police, to ensure the safety of participants and prevent discrimination or violence. Authorities also warned of significant traffic disruptions in the city center during the festivities.
