Various regions in Germany are hosting Christopher Street Day (CSD) events to promote LGBTQ+ visibility and diversity.

In Ingolstadt, the CSD parade proceeded under the motto ‘Kein Schritt zurück’ (No step back). During a panel discussion, state parliament member Florian Siekmann criticized the Bavarian government, noting that while over 50 CSD events are held across Bavaria in 2026, the ‘QUEER Action Plan’ lacks binding measures, funding, and clear responsibility to combat discrimination and violence in schools. Fabie Schuster of the Grüne Jugend emphasized that the city can take meaningful stances even with limited financial resources.

In Erfurt, celebrations included a parade and an ecumenical prayer service at St. Severi Church under the theme ‘Empowerment and Resilience’. In Wuppertal, a demonstration was scheduled for September 12, 2026, under the motto ‘Queer life needs allies’ to advocate for equality and safety. In Thuringia, Minister Stefan Gruhner (CDU) and representatives from Erfurt Pride e. V. planned to hoist the rainbow flag in Erfurt to symbolize a free state where ‘human dignity is inviolable’.
