Christy Carlson Romano discusses past drug use and partying

Former Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano has shared details regarding her past struggles with substance use and her efforts to gain attention through partying. Speaking on the ‘Not Skinny But Not Fat’ podcast, the actress discussed her experiences with binge drinking and cocaine during her early twenties.

Romano noted that she first tried cocaine at age 23, stating she did not actually enjoy the drug but sought the attention it garnered from others in social settings. She described a period of ‘aggressively clubbing’ starting at age 21 in an attempt to be seen with the right people and visit prominent locations, despite lacking professional guidance from publicists or stylists at the time.

These reflections are part of her upcoming memoir, ‘Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Rise and Fall of a Child Star’. Romano is widely recognized for her roles in ‘Even Stevens’ and as the voice of ‘Kim Possible’.
