Christy Carlson Romano memoir release and reflections
Overview
Actress Christy Carlson Romano has begun sharing details from her upcoming memoir, ‘Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Rise and Fall of a Child Star’, ahead of its October 6 release.
In recent discussions, Romano has addressed her personal struggles during her early twenties, including binge drinking and cocaine use. She noted that she used substances not for enjoyment, but to seek the attention they garnered in social settings while ‘aggressively clubbing’ to gain visibility.
Beyond her personal life, Romano has recounted unsettling professional experiences from her youth. These include an inappropriate commercial audition at age six and the rigid media training imposed by Disney Channel executives during the production of ‘Even Stevens’. Following these reflections, she has become an advocate for enhanced mental health and legal protections for minors in the entertainment industry.
