Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres Announces Cadet School and Police Housing Plan

Governor Ignacio “Nacho” Torres of Argentina’s Chubut province led a ceremony in Trelew where 215 police cadets and aspirants took an oath of loyalty. He confirmed that this cohort will be the first to graduate from the long‑awaited provincial Police Cadet School, promising better training, equipment and institutional support.

Torres also highlighted the upcoming opening of a new monitoring centre in Trelew and the installation of facial‑recognition cameras, marking the city as the first in the province with advanced crime‑prevention technology. In addition, he announced the launch of Chubut’s first police housing programme, aimed at providing dignified homes for officers and reducing the need for families to relocate.

The initiatives are presented as part of broader efforts to strengthen police capacity, improve public safety and address long‑standing welfare concerns of the force.
