Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres launches $640 bn infrastructure plan and secures first $4 bn ANSES debt payment
Governor Ignacio “Nacho” Torres announced the “Plan Galina”, a province‑wide infrastructure program funded with more than 640 billion Argentine pesos. The plan targets over 200 projects—including roads, housing, sanitation, sports and health facilities—aiming to create about 4,800 direct construction jobs and improve services across rural and urban communities in Chubut.
In a separate development, the National Social Security Administration (ANSES) made the first disbursement of 4 billion pesos to Chubut, part of a 48 billion‑peso debt settlement confirmed by the Supreme Court. The payment, one of twelve equal installments, will be used to cover the salaries of provincial retirees, strengthening the province’s pension fund after a long‑standing dispute over the funds.
