Chubut to host first summit on carbon economy and climate action
The Province of Chubut is hosting its first provincial summit dedicated to the carbon economy and climate action, titled ‘Carbono Chubut: Valorizando los Servicios Ecosistémicos de la Patagonia’. Held in Rawson, the event is a joint initiative by the Chubut Government and the Provincial Legislature.
The summit aims to establish a shared work agenda by fostering dialogue between the state and the productive sector. It seeks to recognize the economic value of the environmental services provided by Patagonian ecosystems to enhance climate resilience and regional competitiveness.
The program includes eight panels featuring experts from science, academia, civil society, and the public sector. Key topics include the restoration of Andean forests affected by fires, sustainable management of the steppe and grasslands, blue carbon in the sea, renewable energies, green hydrogen, advanced biofuels, and the financing of sustainable development markets.
