Chunghwa Telecom posts record Q2 2026 revenue and expands AI data‑centre operations
Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. reported un‑audited Q2 2026 results, showing total revenue of NT$61.36 billion, up 8.2% year‑on‑year and the highest quarterly figure since 2010. Operating income rose 5.7% to NT$13.26 billion, net income increased 4.7% to NT$10.64 billion and basic EPS reached NT$1.38, all exceeding the upper ends of the company’s guidance. Mobile market share hit a new high of 41.2% and 5G penetration among smartphone users climbed to 48.8%, while 1 Gbps‑plus broadband subscribers grew 61% year‑over‑year.
The company also highlighted the completion of its Taoyuan Lunjing AIDC data‑centre, a 36 MW AI‑infrastructure hub that has already been pre‑leased by a large cloud‑service provider. A second AIDC facility in Taichung has signed an MOU with the Taiwan Stock Exchange, and Chunghwa Telecom’s IDC market share in Taiwan now stands at 78%. Management said AI‑related demand across data‑centre, security and cloud services is driving the new growth engine, with overseas opportunities in the United States and Southeast Asia also being pursued.
