Chybík + Krištof wins redesign competition for Prague’s Holešovice station

The Czech architectural studio Chybík + Krištof has won an international competition to redesign the area surrounding Prague’s Nádraží Holešovice station. The winning proposal aims to transform the existing eight-hectare transport hub and surrounding brownfield into a cohesive urban district.

The redevelopment plan includes the creation of two new public squares, improved pedestrian and cycling connections, and a new high-rise building intended to serve as a local landmark. Key features of the design involve arched halls to facilitate seamless transfers between trains, the metro, buses, and trams, as well as the creative use of space beneath railway viaducts for commercial and cultural purposes.

The project is part of the broader Nové Holešovice development, involving the Prague Public Transit Company, the City of Prague, and private investors including CPI Property, EP Real Estate, Penta Real Estate, and AKIPIA.
