Cienfuegos launches green jobs and sustainability diploma

A new diploma program focusing on green jobs and environmental sustainability has launched in Cienfuegos, Cuba. The initiative aims to facilitate a just transition within the agricultural and sugar sectors.

Part of the AGRO CRECE agreement, the nine-module program is designed to strengthen the technical and professional capacities of union representatives from the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC) and various agricultural, forestry, and tobacco unions. The training, led by Dr. Dunia Pino Bermúdez from the University of Cienfuegos, covers environmental sustainability frameworks, labor conditions, risk prevention, and occupational health. Participants include representatives from the ministries of Labor, Science, Technology and Environment, and Agriculture.
