Italy water infrastructure receives major PNRR funding
Several Italian water management projects are receiving significant funding through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and React EU funds to modernize infrastructure and improve efficiency.
CIIP S.p.A. has been awarded a 100 million euro non-repayable grant from Invitalia for the Pescara Aqueduct project. This intervention, part of a larger 171 million euro plan, aims to renovate the Pescara Aqueduct (lots 2, 3, and 5) to enhance water resource efficiency, structural safety, and resilience against climate change and seismic events in the Piceno and Fermano regions.
Additionally, Consac Gestioni Idriche has secured over 46 million euros for the “Districtualization and digitalization of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano supply and distribution networks” project. Scheduled from 2027 to 2030, the initiative focuses on water and energy savings, leak reduction, and the installation of smart meters and pressure sensors to improve service quality and environmental protection.
