Cilacap Drought Prompts Delivery of 390,000 Liters Clean Water to 15 Villages

The regional disaster agency (BPBD) in Cilacap, Central Java, reports that drought conditions have expanded to 15 villages across nine sub‑districts as of mid‑July 2026. To meet urgent needs, authorities dispatched 74 water tanks containing a total of 390,000 liters of clean water, reaching 4,071 households and roughly 14,267 residents.

Funding for the aid came primarily from the Cilacap regional budget (233,000 liters) with the remainder supplied through corporate social responsibility programs, including the local PMI and Siaga Peduli initiatives (139,000 liters). Officials warned that the drought peak is expected in August‑September 2026 and that additional villages could require assistance. No large forest‑fire incidents have been reported.
