Cilento boosts cultural tourism with Gusto Italia fair and new Cilento History Tour
The itinerant Gusto Italia fair arrived in Marina di Camerota, Cilento, running from 23 July to 2 August. The free event showcased Italian culinary specialties and artisanal products, featured live music, a film preview by Ronn Moss, and was organized by Associazione Italia Eventi with support from local authorities.
On 24 July, the newly founded tour operator Cilento History Tour, created by Angela Riccio, launched its inaugural program during the Processione a Mare of the Madonna di Costantinopoli in Agropoli. The tour offers immersive itineraries that include UNESCO sites such as Paestum and Velia, historic estates, local gastronomy featuring mozzarella di bufala, extra‑virgin olive oil and Aglianico wine, and culminates with a seafood dinner on Marina di Camerota’s beach.
Both initiatives aim to promote Cilento’s cultural heritage, slow‑holiday tourism and the region’s Mediterranean diet, drawing visitors to its historic towns, natural parks and coastal traditions.
