Cimed launches Flavy brand in Portugal to expand internationally

Brazilian pharmaceutical company Cimed has announced its international expansion, launching the brand Flavy in Portugal. Flavy is a new identity created to represent the international version of Carmed, a lip balm brand that achieved significant success in the Brazilian market.

The brand will debut in October exclusively through the Wells retail chain, which operates over 300 health and beauty stores in Portugal. The initial product lineup includes five lip balm varieties: two collaborations with Fini (Jelly Kisses and Jelly Teeth), an Açaí version developed with Oakberry, and flavors such as Candy Apple and Coconut Water.

Karla Felmanas, Vice President of Cimed and Head of Carmed and Flavy, stated that the new brand was designed to facilitate global expansion while maintaining the innovation and trend-setting essence that drove Carmed’s growth in Brazil. Cimed projects a revenue of 1 million euros during the first year of Portuguese operations. This move follows a period of rapid growth for Carmed in Brazil, which saw a 1,204% increase in sell-out value in 2023.
