Cincinnati Art Museum exhibition to debut in Japan

The Cincinnati Art Museum exhibition, titled ‘Treasures of Europe that Traveled to America,’ is set to open at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo on October 10, 2026. The exhibition features 84 masterpieces from the museum’s collection, including works by Monet, Van Gogh, and Picasso, with 81 pieces making their debut in Japan.

Actor Koji Seto, who serves as the official exhibition navigator and provides narration for the audio guide, attended a press preview. He highlighted the opportunity for visitors to experience the physical textures and brushstrokes of the artworks in person.

The exhibition will tour several Japanese cities, including Toyama, Nagoya, and Osaka, through 2027. Additionally, a collaboration with San-X will feature popular characters like Rilakkuma and Sumikko Gurashi in themed merchandise inspired by the classical artworks.
