The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Chicago Cubs 6-4 on Friday night in Cincinnati. The game was decided in the seventh inning when Jose Trevino hit a two-run single with the bases loaded to give the Reds the lead.

Eugenio Suárez previously tied the game at 4-4 with a hit that drove in Elly De La Cruz. For the Cubs, Michael Conforto recorded three hits, but the team struggled as pitcher Clay Holmes allowed six runs over 5 1/3 innings.
