Cine Ceará Festival Opens Registrations for 36th Edition

The 36th edition of the Cine Ceará International Film Festival will take place in Fortaleza from 7 to 13 November 2026. Registrations are open until 15 August and are free of charge. Filmmakers can submit works in three competitive sections – the Ibero‑American Long Feature category (minimum 60 minutes, open to productions from Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal), the Brazilian Short Film category (up to 25 minutes) and the Olhar do Ceará showcase, which highlights local productions of any length. All entries must have been completed no earlier than 2025. The festival will be held at the Cineteatro São Luiz and Cinema do Dragão and will also mark the 300‑year anniversary of Fortaleza. Over its 35‑year history the event has screened more than 800 films from roughly 30 countries, establishing it as a key cultural platform in the region.
