The 32nd edition of CineEco, the Serra da Estrela International Environmental Film Festival, will take place in Seia, Portugal, from October 9 to 17. The festival will showcase 106 films in total, with 87 films from 34 different countries participating in the six main official competitions.

The selection was chosen from 410 submissions, including fiction, documentaries, and visual arts works. The program features 144 directors and includes ten international feature films making their absolute Portuguese premieres. These works have previously been featured at major festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, and Rotterdam.

Themes for this edition focus on contemporary environmental issues, including climate apartheid, environmental migration, and the impact of modern development on traditional communities. Notable films include ‘On the Sea’, exploring Welsh fishing communities, and ‘Let Our Mountains Live’, which follows Sami reindeer herders facing challenges from wind farm construction.
