CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival announces 22nd edition lineup

The 22nd CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival will take place from September 4 to 12, featuring 16 films competing for the Pressburger Award. The lineup includes international works recognized at major festivals like Cannes and Berlin, alongside significant Hungarian productions.

Notable entries include Gábor Reisz’s ‘Földszint’ and Bernadette Mayer’s debut feature ‘Mommy Blue’. The latter received honors at the Beijing International Film Festival. Other international selections include ‘Heysel 85’, which explores football history; ‘Rose’, starring Sandra Hüller; ‘The Battle of Oslo’, a Norwegian historical drama; ‘The Red Warehouse’, set during the 1973 Chilean coup; and ‘Vádemelés’.

The festival is also introducing infrastructure upgrades, including the renovated Science and Technology House Stage with modern laser projection technology. A new V4+ competition section will focus on regional works, with the Croatian comedy ‘Lagzi’ serving as the festival's opening film.
