CINEFIX launches HEAT summer rooftop film series in Athens

In July, the Athens‑based cinema collective CINEFIX will raise the temperature with its HEAT programme, a series of open‑air screenings on the roof of the ΕΜΣΤ cultural centre. The curated line‑up pairs classic Hollywood noir with art‑house titles, emphasizing themes of heat, desire and tension.

The first showing is Lawrence Kasdan’s neo‑noir thriller Body Heat (1981), scheduled for Thursday 2 July at 21:00. A second screening will feature Spike Lee’s socially charged drama Do the Right Thing (1989) on Thursday 9 July at 21:00. Both films are presented in English with Greek subtitles, and tickets cost €4 and are available via the ΕΜΣΤ website.

HEAT aims to reflect the increasingly sweltering summer nights in Athens, offering a cinematic experience where the weather itself becomes part of the narrative.
