Cinfa launches caregiving documentary competition in Spain
The pharmaceutical company Cinfa has announced a solidarity documentary contest titled “Cuidados: la otra mirada” to highlight family and emotional caregiving. The call for entries runs until 1 March 2027 and offers two €7,500 prizes; €2,500 will go to the winning filmmaker and €5,000 to a patient‑or caregiver‑focused organisation selected by the winner. Submissions must be Spanish productions made in the last three years, of any length, that depict the experience of family caregiving. A jury composed of documentary specialists, representatives of social and patient groups and Cinfa’s president will evaluate the entries.
The competition coincides with Cinfa’s release of the documentary “Cuidar”, which features testimonies such as that of Marta Portero, who describes the challenges faced by the “sandwich generation” caring for both children and aging parents. A Cinfa‑led study with the Spanish Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology found that 43.2 % of informal caregivers provide daily assistance. Cinfa aims to give visibility and recognition to this growing segment of the population in an aging society.
