Circular Economy initiatives planned for 2026 in Germany

Various organizations in Germany are preparing initiatives for 2026 focused on the circular economy and sustainability.

In Munich, the Museum Mensch und Natur is planning a project week for the European Sustainability Week from September 28 to October 2, 2026. The program includes the exhibition ‘Jetzt geht es rund – Kreisläufe statt Abfälle’ and offers free museum tours and workshops for schools. These educational activities utilize MINTFLIX_OS, a digital platform from the University of Osnabrück designed for project-based learning in natural and environmental sciences.

Additionally, the Circular Week 2026 is scheduled from October 26 to 31. This international action week aims to connect municipalities, businesses, research institutions, and society to demonstrate practical applications of sustainable production and resource-efficient consumption. The Bergische Abfallwirtschaftsverband (BAV) and the innovation site :metabolon will participate through an online conference on October 27, an excursion to :metabolon on October 28, and educational programs for children.
