Circumvesuviana trains suspended for two days on Naples-Sorrento route
The Circumvesuviana railway service will face a two-day suspension on the Barra–Torre del Greco section on August 28 and 29, 2026. The stoppage is required to complete structural upgrades to the Bosco di Portici and Cavalli di Bronzo tunnels.
EAV (Ente Autonomo Volturno) has implemented several service modifications to mitigate the impact on travelers:
- Trains from Sorrento will terminate at Torre Annunziata and will not continue to Naples. - Trains from Poggiomarino will terminate at Torre del Greco and will not continue to Naples. - A replacement bus service will operate between Naples (Porta Nolana and Garibaldi) and Villa Regina/Torre del Greco.
Two types of bus services are available: direct buses via the highway and standard buses with intermediate stops. Travelers heading to Pompeii and Sorrento from Naples must use the replacement buses to Villa Regina before continuing by train.
