Circus Krone protest in Hamburg leads to physical confrontation

An altercation occurred in Hamburg during a protest against Circus Krone, where animal rights activists climbed onto the circus tent at the Heiligengeistfeld in the St. Pauli district.

Police reported that three activists—two men and one woman—were removed from the tent by circus employees. Both parties have filed charges of bodily harm against each other, and the activists also face charges of trespassing.

The animal welfare organization Vier Pfoten described the protest as a peaceful and legitimate action intended to unfurl a banner, alleging that activists were attacked and injured by circus staff. Circus Krone denied these allegations, stating that while they respect the right to peaceful protest, the activists created a highly dangerous situation by climbing the tent. The company maintained that its employees did not cause physical harm to the activists at any time.
