PT Divine Gems and Jewellery investigated for Rp25 billion gold investment fraud

Approximately 86 victims have reported a suspected gold investment fraud involving PT Divine Gems and Jewellery to the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri). The total estimated losses are approximately Rp25 billion.

According to legal counsel Bionda Johan Anggara, the fraudulent schemes primarily involved a pre-order system where customers were promised significant gold bonuses for purchases, such as receiving 4 grams of gold free with a 5-gram purchase. However, the promised gold was never delivered. Another method involved a buyback scheme where victims were promised high repurchase prices, but payments were not made as agreed.

The investigation is looking into several entities and individuals, including a foreign national director with the initials JKR and an Indonesian commissioner identified as NB. The legal team is also seeking clarification from several public figures and influencers, including individuals with the initials JC, KL, and NN, who allegedly promoted the company's products and attracted investors through social media endorsements.
