CISFECh releases first policy brief for sustainable soil management in Chile

The Center for Soil Research and Ecosystem Functions of Chile (CISFECh) has released its first policy brief aimed at supporting evidence-based public policies for soil management. The document, titled ‘From SIRSD-S to SIGESS: the need for a measurable and transferable data infrastructure for sustainable soil management in Chile’, was launched at the Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh).

The brief builds upon observations previously presented to the Senate Agriculture Commission regarding the project to create the Incentive System for Sustainable Management of Agricultural Soils (SIGESS). The initiative seeks to address the current state of soils essential for national food production through improved data infrastructure and scientific dialogue between researchers and policymakers.
