Citroën C3 line faces safety alerts and launches budget e‑C3 in 2026

In 2026, the Citroën C3 range is drawing attention for two contrasting developments. The gasoline‑engine C3 equipped with the PureTech 1.2 unit has prompted a series of driver alerts, including engine‑warning lights, power loss, abnormal oil consumption and potential distribution‑belt wear. Technicians advise owners to diagnose the specific warning code and address any underlying issues promptly.

At the same time, Citroën has introduced the e‑C3 Urban Range YOU model priced at €12,990 after incentives, positioning it as an affordable electric city car. The vehicle recorded 191,100 global sales in Q1 2026, with 181,000 units sold in Europe and 67,000 registrations in France, securing a 3.5 % market share and a top‑three position in the French market. The e‑C3 has also earned the third place in the 2026 Car of the Year awards.
